POB 6.304 & Zoom

Abstract

**This seminar will be presented live in POB 6.304 and via Zoom.**

In this talk, I will explain the basics of coastal ocean modeling: the underlying physics and assumptions, the mathematical models, and their numerical approximation. I will discuss the current state of the art, and future research directions. I will also discuss several applications related to hurricane modeling, and discuss how our models are used in decision-making.
